* Powers of Attorney and assignment forms must be notarized and legalized via the Libyan consulate in your home country. The consulate will provide instructions on the procedure that is required; note that costs will be incurred for this.

• Extract from the Commercial Registry or Certificate of Incorporation, duly legalized by the Libyan consulate, is required.


• An Arabic translation of the first two pages of the Priority Document is required at filing.

• All filing documents, such as the Power of Attorney, assignments and certificate of incorporation, must be translated into Arabic by a certified translator. The agent invoices the client directly for these charges. The Arabic translation of filing documents must be submitted at filing. This is hard deadline and is non-extendable.

• The Libyan patent office will reject new applications where the original documents are not submitted at the time of filing. The original legalized POA, extract and certified copy of the priority application should be mailed to the agent well before the filing deadline.
