Supported patent filings

* The excess claims fees are based on the application as published. However, an amendment only deleting claims may be submitted to reduce the claims fees.

• Other documents: Form 1 - Patents Act and Application for Grant of Patent which is not required at filing. This will be provided by the agent.

• Applicant status: where all applicants are natural persons, small entities, start-ups or educational institutions there is a reduction in official fees of 80%.

• A certified copy of the Priority Document, along with a certified English translation (in case of non-English language) should be submitted at the time of filing the application. Late filing of these documents is possible within three months from the date of communication by the Controller of Patents, but will result in late fees, for drafting, preparing and filing petitions in order to submit the documents.
