Post-Editing

What is post-editing?

Post-editing is a two-step translation process using a machine-first, human-optimized approach. First, source content is processed by machine translation. This output is then reviewed and edited by expert linguists for quality. It's also known as machine translation post-editing (MTPE).

Post-editing differs from standard translation by enabling larger volumes of content to be translated faster.

Example Use Cases

Post-editing should be considered when content is any of the following:

  • Continuous
  • High-volume
  • Urgent
  • Structured
  • Cost-prohibitive to translate in any other way

Key Benefits

By combining the efficiency of machine translation with the editing expertise of skilled linguists, post-editing helps you translate more content, cost-effectively, to reach global audiences faster.
