Your privacy matters
RWS Holdings PLC and its affiliated companies (together, "RWS") provide a suite of translation technology products under the Trados brand, including cloud-based and on-premise software solutions such as Trados Enterprise, Trados Accelerate, Trados Team and other Trados products.
This Privacy Notice applies solely to the personal information collected and processed by RWS in connection with your use of Trados software and cloud-based solutions. It does not cover any separate linguistic or translation services that RWS may offer.
RWS is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly when you interact with and use Trados products and solutions. This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights you have regarding your data.

What personal information do we collect?
RWS will as controller collect your personal information as follows:

With whom do we share your personal information?
To fulfill the purposes described above, we will share your personal information with our third-party cloud service providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), for data hosting. Rest assured, your data is encrypted while hosted with AWS and not accessible.
Such third-party providers act for, on behalf of, and under the instructions of RWS, and are required to adhere to our policies, procedures and processes and to comply with applicable data privacy laws.
RWS may also share your personal information with other third parties if required to do so by applicable law or regulation.
In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, in the preceding twelve (12) months, RWS has not sold any personal information.
Do we transfer your personal data externally?
The Trados suite of technology products is is hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform with current options including AWS Frankfurt (Germany) and AWS Montreal (Canada).
In the event that your personal data is transferred to a country which is not governed by a data protection law affording a similar or adequate level of data protection than that in force in your country of residence, RWS will take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection of the transferred data in the country of transfer by entering into appropriate data transfer agreements, such as those based on the European Standard Contractual Clauses issued by the European Commission. With respect to RWS’s intra-group personal data transfers, RWS has concluded an intra-group data transfer agreement with its affiliates, a copy of which is available by using the Contact details below.
How long do we retain your personal data?
We will retain your personal data for the purposes for which they were collected, notably to provide our services, respond to your enquiries and data subject requests, prevent and combat fraud and security incidents, comply with our legal obligations such as tax, audit and financial reporting, within the limits prescribed by applicable regulations, and to preserve evidence for the management of disputes, claims or litigation.
At the end of the retention period, which may last for up to 7 years from the date of your last interaction, your personal data will be deleted.
How do we ensure your personal data is safe?
RWS will implement and maintain administrative, organisational, technical and physical security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems that process your personal data.
Your Rights
RWS is committed to complying with both this Privacy Notice and applicable data protection and privacy laws including but not limited to:
- European General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’).
- UK Data Protection Act (UK DPA’’).
- Canada Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (‘PIPEDA’).
- California Consumer Privacy Act (‘CCPA’).
- Brazil general data protection law (‘LGPD’).
- Australian Privacy Act.
You are entitled to several rights in relation to your personal data under application data protection laws:
- You have a right to access and rectify the personal data RWS processes about you. Upon legitimate grounds, you also have a right to erasure (right to be forgotten) of your personal information.
- Depending on your country of residence and upon legitimate grounds, you also have a right to restrict the processing of your personal information, a right to object to the processing, and a right to data portability.
- You also have a right to lodge a complaint with your local Supervisory Authority responsible for overseeing the processing of personal data. In the list of RWS Companies are details of the relevant Supervisory Authorities per country in which we operate.
