Supported patent filings

* Assignment documents are only required if the applicant of the priority application is different to the applicant of the Mexican application.

** The Spanish translation can be submitted within two months from the filing date.

• Applicant status: where applicants are small entities, educational institutions, or the sole applicant and inventor, there is a reduction in official fees of 50%.

* Unlike PCT cases, assignments are required for convention filings and can be filed later by means of an office action.

** The Spanish translation can be submitted within two months from the filing date.

• A certified copy of the Priority Document must be filed within three months from the application filing date. A Spanish translation of the Priority Document is also required and should be submitted at the time of filing the application. Late filing of the translation of the Priority Document is possible within three months from the filing date, but will result in a late fee.

• Applicant status: where applicants are small entities, educational institutions, or the sole applicant and inventor, there is a reduction in official fees of 50%.
